To get a taste of a life in solitude, actress Gwyneth Paltrow spent three days on an uninhabited Caribbean island.
Taking with her only the basics – some rice, three oranges, cooking utensils, a mosquito net, notebook and camera - she wrote a diary for the U.S. edition of Marie Claire magazine.
She obviously enjoyed her three days alone living a Robinson Crusoe lifestyle: “I can understand people who get stuck on a Caribbean island and never want to return,” she told Marie-Claire’s readers. She is now reputedly on the market for an island in the Bahamas.
But other Hollywood celebrities also yearn for the Island Life.
Some VIPs loved their personal islands so much they wanted to be buried on them.
Publisher Malcolm S. Forbes was laid to rest on the South Sea Island of Laucala. Shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis’s tomb can be found on the Mediterranean island of Scorpios, and Princess Diana is buried on an islet situated on the Spencer family’s estate.
