Sue Jin Kang was born in Korea. After taking ballet lessons in her home country, she moved to Monte Carlo, where she studied at the Académie de Danse classique under the instruction of Marika Besobrasova. 1985 she won the Grand Prix de Lausanne.
Since 1986 she has danced at the Stuttgarter Ballett, 1994 as soloist, 1997 as Principal Dancer.
Significant appearances:
Significant appearances and leading rôles in classical performances such as Juliet in “Romeo and Juliet”, Katharina in “The Taming of the Shrew”, Pamina in “The Magic Flute”, the Diva in “Poème de l’Exstase”, Marguerite Gautier in “The Lady of the Camellias” and many more.
She gave brilliant performances at the National Ballet of Korea, the Universal Ballet in Seoul and also at the Art Festival in Instanbul. Furthermore, she played the rôle of Lise in La fille mal gardée (Heinz Spoerli) in Hannover. She tours around the world with the Stuttgarter Ballett, e.g. through the USA, Korea and Japan. In April 1999 she was awarded the “Benois de la Danse” for her rôle of Marguerite in “The Lady of the Camellias”. She has received many major awards in her native country Korea, such as the significant Ho-Am Prize 2002″.
