The second Geneva Time Exhibition, closed on Friday 21 January and proved a tremendous success.
Nearly 6000 people – watch professionals, collectors and international media – attended the Independent Watchmakers’ Fair to see the creativity of its sixty exhibitors.
The enthusiastic response re-affirmed GTE’s status as one of the new events in the watch calendar.
‘GTE has now confirmed its role as the international focus of independent watchmaking’, declares Fair Director Florence Noël. ‘This was proved by the quality of visitors present at our second edition: a stream of high-level international clients and prominent members of the specialist media.
‘Great efforts were made to help our exhibiting brands achieve their goals, and meet the requirements of retailers and distributors from around the world. The number of orders taken by Fair exhibitors, and the number of sales concluded, indicate clearly that these goals were met,’ asserts Florence Noël.
A jury of independent watch experts gave the inaugural Superwatch Award to the young watchmaker Frédéric Jouvenot for his Helios timepiece which, for the first time in watchmaking history, shows the time without using traditional hands, numbers or discs.
