At the age of 20, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac began his fashion design career. His work is underpinned by the use of colour and a sense of fun.

Jean-Charles de Castelbajac was born on 28 Novembre 1949 in Casablanca, Morocco.  As the Marquis de Castelbajac, he is in fact a French nobleman.

Jean-Charles de Castelbajac is innovative, a fashion magpie that uses a huge array of materials to create elegant yet fun designs.The end result is fun clothing like the Lego watches or the cheeky style favoured by Katy Perry – a big fan of his.

His fashions have also been modelled by Madonna as in the coat of teddy bears and by supermodel Helena Christensen in the film Prêt-à-Porter.

He also makes home furnishings, carpets, light fittings, porcelain and household linen also in his own unmistakable style.

He has also designed the visuals for the opening credits of Muzzik; the cable television station.
