Gaspard Yurkievich Designer

Gaspard Yurkievich was born in Paris in 1972 and studied at the Bercot Studio. He is part of a new generation of designers to emerge from Paris in the 1990’s.

These new designers combine the creativity of London with France’s fashion heritage. The results are startling.

Gaspard took an internship with Thierry Mugler and then with Jean Paul Gaultier who combine the creative flair of London with the historic grandeur of France.

Having completed his studies he went to assist the independent label Jean Colonna which allowed him to gain perspective on all areas of the fashion industry.

In 1997, he started his own womenswear label and was awarded the prestigious womenswear prize at the Hyères Festival.

In 1998 he received funding from ANDAM, an organisation set up by the French Ministry of Culture to support young designers, and showed his first pret a porter collection in Paris.

He aunched his mens pret a porter in 2003 and in the same year, opened his first boutique.

Between 2005 and 2007 he taught fashion at l’Ensad.

Yurkievich has gone from strength to strength and is a shining example leading of a generation of young French designers, who combine the cutting edge with tradition, to create something fresh.

Dries Van Noten Belgian fashion designer

Born in Antwerp in 1958, Dries Van Noten is the third generation in a family of tailors. Between the two world wars, his grandfather reworked second-hand clothes by turning them inside out.
